UNDER 15’S COLTS
SEASON 2007/08
The season started early with the side entering various 6 asides during the summer which proved to be the beginning of a fantastic season for the colts.
The squad had a few changes from the previous season with some new faces joining the club. The season started well with some great victories in the 1st few weeks. Then we were beaten for the 1st time of the season by Wellesbourne this was to be our only defeat in the league until Feb 08 when we were beaten by Woodloes Jnrs ,our only defeats of the season.
In the cup i think we took part in the best game i have ever been involved with during my time associated with boys football , we had been drawn against Snitterfield, The match was pretty even but we had not taken our chances and with 15mins to go we were 3-0 down by full time we had got it back to 3-3 extra time required , the colts then took the lead 4-3 only for Snitterfield to hit back and make it 4-4 at the final whistle. Penalties required (who said English players can’t take penalties )The 1st 4 from each side were converted , the colts keeper then saved Snitterfields 5th spot kick and colts scored theirs to take them through to the next round.
The colts then went on to win the League Cup defeating Woodford in the final.
The league title was claimed in April meaning the Colts had completed the double scoring 101goals in the league and 31goals in the cup.
The most pleasing thing for me is the squad attitude during the season , to training, matches and to each other , with no complaints when they have not started games i can honestly say they have been a pleasure to manage and look forward to next season with the under 15 Colts.
No team can run smoothly without the help of parents and the colts Parents have been fantastic in their support to myself and the boys i would just like to say a big thank you to you all.
