St Peters Celtic F.C. Coaching Course

10 Managers and Coaches from St Peters Celtic FC have recently completed a Level 1 coaching course ran by The Football Association and Birmingham County F.A. especially for St Peters Celtic F.C.

The course took place at Telford School in Leamington Spa over a number of evenings and weekends and covered topics such as Long Term Player Development, Emergency First Aid, Child Protection Workshops, Training Methods, Club and Team development.

For some of the Managers and Coaches on the course it was a chance to refresh their qualifications and renew their C.R.B. Checks, Emergency First Aid Certificates and Child Protection Certificates.

We would like to thank Telford Pre-School and also Telford Junior School for allowing us the use of their facilities enabling us to host this vital course.

We are planning in the new year to put even more people through the Level 1 Coaching course and send some onto the Level 2 Courses. If you would like to be one of these people, Please contact one of our managers or coaches or Email: stpetersceltic@yahoo.co.uk

The Managers and Coaches take a well earned break during their assesmsents to listen to some advice and anecdotes from their assesor and England Disability Goalkeeping Coach Paul Reynolds.

Paul Reynolds wrapped up warm to fight of the bitter English weather as he had just landed back in the U.K. from being with the England Disability Squad at the Amputee Football World Championships. England managed to take fifth place after being defeated by Brazil 3-2 in the Semi -Finals.

England were drawing 2-2 with Brazil until with only 9 seconds on left on the clock Brazil broke English Hearts and scored the winning goal.

It wasn't all just about standing around! during the weekend sessions we spent the days 'on the pitch' being put through our paces by ex Birmingham City Player Ian Clarkson and ex Aston Villa Legend Dennis Mortimer who as Captain held aloft both the League and European Championship Trophies for Aston Villa and also features in Aston Villa's all time Hall Of Fame.
